  A vast park full of nature.
  It is also famous for being able to interact closely with deer.

  [Horyu-ji Temple] Train + About 45 minutes on foot

  It is said to have been founded around the year 607 by Prince Shōtoku. It is the oldest wooden structure in the world still standing. It is registered as a World Heritage Site.

  [Kofuku-ji Temple (to the National Treasure Hall)] About a 10-minute walk

  Kofuku-ji Temple, located in a corner of the lawn area of Nara Park.
  This temple is famous for its five-story pagoda and the Ashura statue. It is registered as a World Heritage Site.

  A vivid vermilion-lacquered shrine building stands solemnly.
  This is the head shrine of Kasuga Shrine, which has 3,000 branches nationwide.
  It is registered as a World Heritage site.

  You can enjoy a panoramic view of Nara city, offering a magnificent scenery. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom; in autumn, you can enjoy colorful leaves and pampas grass, experiencing the natural beauty of each season. You can also see deer roaming around various parts of the mountain.

  There are many buildings that strongly evoke the atmosphere of the Nara period, including the East Pagoda, South Gate, Golden Hall, East and West Pagodas, East Courtyard Hall, and the Great Lecture Hall. It is registered as a World Heritage Site.

  The Nara National Museum is located in a corner of Nara Park, adjacent to Todai-ji Temple, Kofuku-ji Temple, and Kasuga Taisha Shrine.

  [Heijokyo Ruins] About 20 minutes by train + walking

  Many people probably remember it from history class with the mnemonic "What a wonderful Heijokyo." About 1,300 years ago, Heijo Palace was located in this vast area, roughly the size of 30 Koshien Stadiums, which is now used as a place for citizens to relax.
  It is registered as a World Heritage site.

  Naramachi is an area centered around the former precincts of Gango-ji, a World Heritage Site. The charming streets lined with traditional townhouses are a highlight.
  Notably famous are the latticed facades facing the street, narrow shopfronts, box stairs, and the substitute monkey statues.
