Valentine's Day decorations have started...
Everyone, the temperature has dropped sharply and it’s becoming more winter-like these days. How have you been?
Hello, this is Henn na Hotel Tokyo Hamamatsucho.
February 14th is Valentine's Day, and while we usually decorate with pop-style decorations, this year we have completely changed the look to help you understand the true meaning of Valentine's Day.
The original Valentine's Day is said to be a day to honor Saint Valentine, a priest who was called to heaven on February 14, 269 AD. At that time, Valentine deeply lamented the ban on marriage imposed for the conscription of young men and secretly conducted wedding ceremonies for young soldiers.
The emperor, upon learning this, questioned Valentinus and ordered him never to defy the law again. However, since Valentinus did not comply, he was captured. Afterwards, Valentinus became widely known as the saint "Saint Valentine."
Time passed to the 14th century, when the event known as "Valentine's Day" began to be associated with love. Even today, Valentine's Day is celebrated in various forms around the world as a day for lovers to pledge their love to each other.
We hope you enjoy the front desk with a slightly more mature atmosphere this year.
We sincerely look forward to your visit.
