Access

[Tenmonkan] This area is bustling with gourmet food and shopping, making it the most vibrant downtown in southern Kyushu. The name originates from the construction of the "Meijikan" (also known as Tenmonkan), a facility for astronomical observations and calendar creation during the Edo period. It is about a 1-minute walk from the hotel.

The Iō World Kagoshima Aquarium boasts an outstanding location with a view of Sakurajima, the symbol of Kagoshima. The Kuroshio Large Tank, where the world's largest fish, the whale shark, swims alongside bonito and tuna, is truly impressive. It is about a 15-minute ride by streetcar from the hotel.

[Shirokuni Shrine] This shrine is dedicated to Shimazu Nariakira, the 28th head of the Shimazu family. As the largest shrine in Kagoshima, it attracts many visitors. Approximately a 9-minute walk from the hotel.

[Senganen] A beautiful garden overlooking the majestic Sakurajima, this is the Shimazu family's villa. The area around Senganen, located in the Iso area, was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015 as part of the "Sites of Japan's Meiji Industrial Revolution." It is about a 15-minute bus ride from the hotel.

[Kagoshima City Hirakawa Zoo] The only zoo in Kyushu where you can meet koalas. The view of the African zone unfolds against the backdrop of the panoramic scenery of Sakurajima and Kinko Bay. You can also enjoy watching the animals and Sakurajima while soaking in the foot bath installed in the park. About a 50-minute bus ride from the hotel.
