How about collecting temple stamps as a companion to your Kyoto sightseeing?

Hello!
Henn na Hotel is located in front of Kyoto Hachijo Exit Station🦕

A stamp received as proof of visiting shrines and temples.
Collecting these temple stamps has now become a major trend, and in recent years, various unique temple stamps with colorful designs and illustrations have emerged.

And gaining attention from the goshuin (temple stamp) boom is the "sacred site pilgrimage" 🗾
Among Japan's leading pilgrimage sites are the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage and the Saigoku 33 Kannon Pilgrimage, but are you familiar with the "Rakuyo 33 Kannon Pilgrimage", which visits 33 temples and shrines within Kyoto city?

Known as a route visiting Kannon, who is said to "remove people's suffering and sadness and guide them to happiness," its origins are believed to date back to the Heian period 😳

The official website of the Rakuyo 33 Kannon Pilgrimage introduces recommended worship routes☆彡

Along the Kamo River, where you can enjoy the charming scenery typical of Kyoto, and in Gion, where the old townscape remains, there are various ways to enjoy depending on your pilgrimage route♪

Also, an official pilgrimage stamp book (shuincho) is available, and it is sold at Toji Temple, one of the 33 pilgrimage sites near our hotel.

Access: City bus from "Kyoto Station Hachijo Exit Avanti Front" 🚌

- Take the 78 line (bound for Kuze Industrial Park) and get off at the 5th stop, "Higashi-Temple South Gate"
- Take the No. 19 bus (bound for Nakakujōjima Yokooji Garage) and get off at the 5th stop, "Higashi-Tōji South Gate"
- Take the 71 line (to Matsuo Bridge, Kyoto University of Foreign Studies) and get off at the 5th stop, "Higashi-Tōji East Gate"
- Take the 16 line (bound for Minami Ward General Government Building / Kujo Depot) and get off at the 5th stop, "Toji Nishimon-mae"

Alternatively, it is accessible by walking (20 minutes) 🚶‍♂️

While it's nice to visit the classic tourist spots, traveling with the purpose of visiting sacred sites may allow you to understand Kyoto more deeply…👀

This is a collection of goshuin that our hotel staff is currently gathering!

It is said that if you visit all 33 locations, you will receive a certificate called a completion certificate✨
