Hello everyone!
Henn na Hotel is located in front of Kyoto Hachijo Exit Station🦖

It has become a pleasant season with clear autumn skies, and the mornings and evenings have noticeably become colder.
In Kyoto, the trees have started to change color, and the season of autumn has arrived.

At Henn na Hotel Kyoto Hachijo-guchi Station, we will introduce you to the recommended autumn foliage spots by our staff.

①Arashiyama Best Viewing/From late November to early December
Arashiyama, favored as a villa area for nobles since the Heian period, is still known as one of the most scenic spots in Kyoto.
The iconic Togetsukyo Bridge in Arashiyama and the vibrant autumn foliage are popular spots every year.

Kyoto Station/JR Sagano Line - Get off at Saga-Arashiyama Station, 5 minutes on foot

②To-ji Temple Peak Viewing/ Late November to Early December
The five-story pagoda, which is a symbol of Kyoto, is adorned by trees dyed in red.
In addition, the temple of Toji will have a light-up event in the precincts from November 1 (Wednesday) to December 10 (Sunday).
Viewing Hours: 6:00 PM - 9:30 PM (Last admission at 9:00 PM)
You can enjoy the fantastical scenery of the illuminated five-story pagoda and autumn leaves, which is different from the daytime.

③ Tofuku-ji Temple Peak Viewing/ Mid-November to Early December
The approximately 2,000 maple trees in the temple grounds, including the Tang maple brought back from Song by the monk Shōichikokushi, will paint the temple in autumn colors.
During the autumn foliage season, it becomes one of the most popular places in Kyoto.
* During the autumn foliage season, photography may be prohibited at the Tsuten Bridge and the Gagum Bridge during busy times.

④Nijo Castle Peak Viewing / Mid-November to Early December
You can enjoy the autumn leaves of various types of trees while strolling through the spacious grounds.
Additionally, this autumn, an event will be held in collaboration with the fall foliage and the creative company NAKED's digital art.
Event Period: October 27 (Fri) - December 3 (Sun) 18:00 - 22:00 (Last entry 21:00)
It is also recommended to enjoy projection mapping that decorates important cultural properties, drinks and sweets that allow you to feel the autumn of Kyoto, as well as a unique way to enjoy the autumn leaves.

⑤Kiyomizu-dera Best Viewing Period/ Late November to Early December
Kiyomizu-dera is the most famous tourist destination in Kyoto, and the autumn foliage season is also highly recommended.
The view of the autumn leaves from the main hall, famous as the stage of Shimizu, is breathtaking.
The special night viewing held three times a year is also attractive and allows you to feel a fantastic atmosphere.

⑥Nanzen-ji Temple Best Viewing/ Mid-November to Early December
Please enjoy the view from the upper floors at Nanzen-ji Temple.
From the top of the three gates, you can overlook the grounds covered in maple leaves, as well as the autumn streets of Kyoto, dotted with red hues.
